I am an author/illustrator/architect based in the San Diego area. My debut picture book, Betty Builds It, came out in 2019! You can see some of the art I created for this book in the illustration gallery. My humorous stories have been described as off-beat or quirky, a description that I think fits me perfectly! I am always looking for that sweet spot of funny and heartfelt in my stories. Most of my work is done in Prismacolor colored pencil and Copic marker and watercolor, with an occasional dive into acrylic paint, pen and ink, cut paper, and let’s not forget my trusty pencil. I also enjoy using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Animate.
I am currently seeking new representation. A member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, I am active in my local chapter. I have received Certificates in Children’s Book Illustration and Children’s Book Writing from UCSD extension. I continue to enjoy attending numerous classes, conferences and workshops to hone my picture book writing and drawing skills.
