Right now we will have to make it a virtual visit, but I’ve been hard at work to put together a fun and compelling presentation to connect with kids from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Using Betty Builds It as a story-time springboard, we will also talk about some age-appropriate STEM topics.
There’s plenty of support materials you can see on my activity page, too. I am happy to customize our visit to fit your curriculum needs!
A 45-minute live presentation can include your choice of topics such as:
- Picture books: How words and pictures work together to tell a story
- Writing process: What are the elements of a story?
- Drawing process, with art demo
- Where do you get your ideas? Tricks to generate stories and characters
- Q & A, alway a fun way to engage with your students!

Additionally, if teachers and/or librarians have a way to distribute my fun book swag (cool paper ruler bookmarks, stickers and pencils) to students, we can make arrangements to get those to you!
